forty years. Alive in 1914. Attended district school until 18,
at 21 left home employed as a wage earner in a saw mill.
Became interested in farming in Jay County. For four years
after marriage (Feb 23, 1870) rented father's farm. Moved to
Jackson township, Blackford Co about 1874, bought 40 acres,
still owned land in 1914. Was in Masonic Order, politics
always democratic party, superintendant of Pike road, Jackson
Township.
Letter from Cecil Beeson to John Lehker 9/29/76 about a family
bible confirms birthdate and birthplace. Conflicting marriage
dates: shows Jan 23, 1870 in bible, Feb 23, 1870 in history
book.
