Note for:   Daniel Landon,   19 AUG 1719 - 25 APR 1774         Index
Individual note:   GMJ lists his wife's name as Ruhama based on a 1733 deed and
Daniel's 1733 will. GMNJ acknowledges that Ruhamah might not
be the mother of all Daniel's children. A number of sources,
including the IGI, list Catherine Simson as Daniel's first
wife, presumably based on the fact that Daniel was bondsman for
catherine Simson, as Administratrix of the estate of Samuel
Simson in July 1766.

A William Landon was listed in an acocunt book of Francis
Baird's tavern and general store, Warwick, Orange Co, NY

This COULD be his son william also on the 1775 assessment roll.

confirmed.

Occupation:   farmer
Individual note:   Notes from David Skinner, 1411 Lucy Street, Tallahassee, FL
43408 (904) 878-4955.
Primary source: GMNJ #26
May have been in Plymouth, PA 1777-78, Loyalsock, PA 1785-90.
The placement of Elisha Landon as a son of William is a good
guess based on several clues and elimination of other
possibilities, but it is not proven. This is probably the
William Landon who was in Sycamore Twp, Hamilton Co, OH (near
Cincinatti in 1810 per 'Early Ohio Tax Records.' There was
also a William Landon in Warwick, Orange Co., NY in 1775 per
tax assessment roll (History of Orange Co., NY)
This needs a lot more work. Children listed here are not in
GMNJ article. Need to check for adequate evidece to support
this. William Bonner has much more on this line and cites as
his source as the Joy Lehman book.
