Individual note: Around the time of the Revolution, Ezekiel moved his family
westward to an area whose ownership was in dispute. It was
claimed and taxed by Virgina and Pennsylvania, which resulted
in a serious bar to obtaining good land titiles. In 1780,
Ezekiel signed a petition asking Congress to admit the area in
question to a separate state.

Individual note: After the death of her husband in 1801, Abiel moved her family
to Smith Co., TN, where she bought a farm for herself and her
sons to work. She was not a poor widow, since she made sure
each of her sons received 150 acres of land when they married
and that her daughters received all the household items they
needed when they married. She named sons in her will as:
Jonathan, David, Charles, Elijah, Daniel, and John. Her
daughters were given as: Polly Crafford - her heirs, Jerimah
Jenkins, Unice Swift, Catherine Fitzgerald, Abigal Pritchett,
and Ann Austin. She also named granddaughters Nancy and
Abagail Crafford.

Individual note: Per GMNJ, Samuel Landon, Jr. enlisted in Revolutionary War,
then continued to live in NJ. His wife was Jemima Eddy, prob.
widow of John Eddy of Newton, NJ. He prob. did not have any
children.

Individual note: This is apparently NOT the Zebulan Landon who was in Ontario
Co., NY in 1810. Per GMNJ he fought in the Revloutionary War,
then remained in Sussex Co, NJ, moved to Byram Twp abt 1803, to
Roxbury in Morris Co. sometime after 1808, died there in 1816.
Thomas Landon and Levi Landon are buried nearby in Mt. Olive
Baptist Churchyard, and are believed to be his sons. His widow
Charity joined the Roxbury Presbyterian Church in 1822 and died
in 1832 per church records.
