1882 O over S (O/S) VAM-5 

Late die state of the VAM-5 O/S mint mark.  Notice the solid crossbar only extends half way across the mint mark.

This is an early die state of the VAM-4 O/S mint mark.   The diagonal is not well developed at this point.
